A favorite moment from your year of service:

A favorite moment of my year of service would have to be a series of moments from early September, when we helped to host Harvest Festivals at all four of my schools. Harvest Festivals haven’t happened since Covid at any of my schools and this year they all wanted to host this community event once again. These were my favorite moments because I had the chance to meet all the students at each school to help prepare for the festivals and then I got to meet school staff and families during the actual event in the evening. This event brought me so much joy because you could tell how much these communities missed being all together and were grateful that this event was being hosted again.

An accomplishment from the year that you are proud of:

I am proud of all the relationships that I built while being up in the NEK and working within these schools. A large part of this job was making connections with school staff and community members; this was one of my favorite parts of serving with Green Mountain Farm-to-School. I met so many amazing people and learned so much from school staff and community members.

Something you learned that you will take with you:

Throughout my year of service, I have learned more about myself than ever before. I learned that I love working in the school environment. I love the community that working in a school can provide. I also was able to further my educator skills throughout the year by learning from some amazing teachers and watching them in action in their classrooms.

Where are you headed next?

I am headed to the University of Vermont to get a dual degree in Clinical mental health counseling and school counseling. I will also be working at a childcare center in Burlington while going to school!
